C1 and D1 Driver Training with Bananas Driver Training


Course Dates and Availability

Pre entry driver training for applicants wishing to apply to the Scottish Ambulance Service for roles such as:

Ambulance Technician
Paramedic
Advanced Practitioner
A+E Ambulance Driver
Ambulance Care Assistant
Patient Transport Service PTS




Bananas Driver Training offer C1 and D1 driver training and practical driving tests.

Before booking a course you will require the following:

D2 D4 application pack to add provisional entitlement: DVLA Website

Book a medical: Book a Medical

Apply for provisional C1 and D1 entitlements using the D2 D4 forms

Pass the theory and hazard perception tests for the required vehicle.

For front line blue light style ambulance: you need lorry theory and hazard perception tests. Book Theory Tests

For passenger transport ambulances: you need bus theory and hazard perception tests.

Ambulance Driver Training Scotland







We provide the training vehicle and can arrange your DVSA practical test, all you need do is turn up with your driving licence, we do the rest.



Please note we do not carry out blue light training or response driver training, we train to the standards required for DVSA practical driving tests.

Training is normally carried out in West Lothian from our vocational vehicle operating base near Livingston.

Please be aware that it is now illegal to supervise a provisional C1 or D1 licence holder unless you have passed a test in the required category yourself and held the licence for 3 years after passing the test.
